I''m very pleased with this mouse. No hassel install, outstanding accuracy, along with the huge dpi choice, a user can''t go wrong. I also love the fit in my hand. Some manufactures make the most uncomfortable mice that claim to be ergonomic. For the most part those mice get on my nerves with their weird curves and bumps in odd places. I bought several of these to keep on hand.

For the company moving forward, fixing the side buttons and integrating a side scrolling will be great.

Overall, great mouse and portability for the price.

My old first-gen Mighty Mouse (the power hog) has been showing signs of giving up the ghost. I really like the thing, but it''s no longer sold. Its successor, the Mighty Mouse 2, is not supported for older Mac OSes, like I am running (Snow Leopard 10.6.8, the Mac''s equivalent of WindowsXP). To my knowledge, no one other than Apple offers anything similar to Apple''s touch surface, which I''ve grown to really like. Clicking scroll wheels, arrays of buttons? Yuck. However, I have to live with reality, so I figured I would give something cheap a try, just to see if any of them might work. This TechNet Wireless Mouse seemed to be as good a starting place as any. Since my MM1 depletes a set of batteries once a week (thank goodness for rechargeables), battery life played a major part in my choice of a replacement mouse. This one claims over a year. Sounds promising. At least I don''t need any kind of special driver, although that is a yellow flag for a Mac, whose control panel makes no provisions for these mechanical wheeled mice. How will my OS deal with it?

It arrived today. After inserting the one AA battery (not included) in the opening, and then inserted the little USB FOB thing in an available USB port, a window popped up telling me that I needed to push the character immediately to the right of the left SHIFT key. Huh? "It thinks I just plugged in a keyboard, not a mouse!" Strike 1. I went along with the gag and pressed the Z key, and got a terse "that''s not a keyboard I recognize" response and the window closed. But at least the cursor was zooming around on the screen at breakneck speeds in response to the mouse movement. I then fiddled with the mouse preferences settings and backed off on the Maximum Tracking Speed that the Mighty Mouse uses to meet my satisfaction. Now the mouse was slower, although the movement is pretty jerky, hard to precisely position the cursor like I can with the MM1.

I opened a picture and minimized the window so that I could scroll around up/down left/right. Up/down worked, but left/right did not. Further, just by the sounds of a mechanical click, I could hear that the left wheel button was working, but there was no such click for a right movement. I tried Maccy things like holding down the Option key or the Command key to get the left/right scrolling to work, but no. Not gonna work. The right button isn''t working, nor is left/right scrolling. Strike 2.

Next I noticed that it felt quite small. One of my reasons for buying this mouse over some of the others was that the listed length of the TechNet mouse was slightly longer than the MM1. No, it is not. Holding them up to one another, I can see the TechNet is about 0.2" shorter than the MM1. They lied. Plus, at about 1.5" high, it is about 3x the height of the MM1, even though I knew that going in. I feel like I''m holding a softball in comparison to the MM1. Strike 3.

This isn''t to say that PC-heads won''t like it. It''s just that for a Mac person running a very old MacOS (I know, I know ...), it just is not meant to be.

Back it goes. Maybe I''ll just have to tear apart the MM1 and see if I can cobble it together with chewing gum to get a few more miles out of it.

After inserting the USB dongle into my laptop and putting a battery into this mouse (it requires only one), after the PC finally detected it, the mouse worked for about two minutes. After that it went to sleep and even when I moved it around it wouldn''t wake up. Reinserting the dongle didn''t work, nor did reinserting the battery (which was brand new.)

Fortunately, in the same order as this mouse I purchased another that was from a major manufacturer. I transferred the battery to that one and after adding a necessary second battery I have been using it ever since.

There is "inexpensive" and then there is "cheap". This mouse is a cheap POS. Buyer beware.

I''ve had this mouse for about six weeks and it''s worked pretty well. It is super light-weight. The feel of it was a bit different (not as sturdy as my other one), but I got used to it, along with all of the extra buttons, etc. Today sadly I accidentally knocked it off the desk, not even three feet, and it busted. That''s crazy! It wasn''t thrown or dropped from a high distance. I realize it''s a computer mouse and not made for falls, but if there is one person that has owned a wireless mouse and never in their life dropped it, I''d be super surprised. The battery life seems great, I''ve had no issues in the six weeks I''ve owned it. The set-up was straight forward as far as use, and it looks nice. I just feel it was very cheaply made. I''m disappointed and will NOT purchase another one as a replacement.

Then came the bad news. In roughly 40 days the scroll wheel developed a mind of its own, and using it now is enough to make me want to throw it against the wall in frustration. Save your self some frustration, because if their quality control is such that they sell a product that is just about useless in a little over a month you should take a pass IMHO. Back to Logitech for me.

One thing strange has the USB transmitter is a bright blue at least for mine it was so it sticks out like a sore thumb if you have it in front of your computer or laptop. It may not be a con for people if you accidentally drop it and we''re trying to find it. It doesn''t come with batteries and the funniest thing about it is on the package it says frustration-free the circular sticker that keeps the Box closed is on so tight I had to rip the Box open in order to open the product. So much for frustration lol. Would I buy it again absolutely price performance-wise you can''t complain about it.

I have tried and tried to give this mouse a chance. I thought the issues were due to weak battery. I have changed the batteries several times with no difference. The cursor skips, mouse scrolls through documents / web when not even touching the scroll wheel. I purchased this mouse due to favorable reviews as a CAD mouse. It is horrible and its accuracy is subpar. I have now switched back to the simple 3-button mouse. Delivery time was exceptionally long and when it arrived the actual packaging was trashed. Would NOT RECOMMEND for any type of computer use.

And it''s great for battery life as it turns itself off when you''re not using it. Took awhile to get used to clicking it on to activate it but now I just do it automatically. Try it you''ll like it.

Very disappointed in this mouse! I bought it because it sounded good and was a low cost item. When I received it I was happy with it and thought the battery saving sleep function was a great idea.

There is a slight pause after the mouse it''s a while when you go to move it. Otherwise it''s not that bad.
